Red reddington's life mission to protect her and keep her safe had failed Dealing with any more blacklisters' was meaningless without the ongoing bond/connection between red and liz, which was the life's blood of the show. Elizabeth started out as a lousy character, and became worse She was always the straight man, a plot device, the blank slate in the eye of the storm, the vessel for everyone else's exploits
